I have managed to get out some over the last two weeks, including yesterday. While not from my preferred time period, at least I was digging
I started hunting around an older, mid 1800s, abandoned house in my town, as well as the adjacent neighbor's yard. Had to wade through a lot of modern coinage, and didn't find anything as old as the house, but scored a few nice keepers.
Here is the sum of what I got in two trips totaling about three hours.
Only two pieces of silver - at least they were Barbers
1897 dime in dirt
A Pittsburgh Railways Trolley token dated 1922. These were used for a long time after 1922.
A Saint Christopher's medal that reads "I am a Catholic. In case of accident, please notify a Priest" on the back.
From another (large) site, that I have pounded for many years, I got a nice green 1864 IHP just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
Same site - an odd piece of jewelry.
Same site - some buttons, a toe tap, and a roached out 1864 IHP.
