After work I decided to hit a spot I haven't hunted this year. On my way there I found some recent construction and ground erosion from the storms we've had and decided to wade though the knee deep mud. Nothing but brokes for the first hour until I came upon the bifurcate or stemmed piece. On my way back I spotted a concave base sticking out of the ground right beside my footprint about 50 feet from my vehicle. I was sure it would be another broke but it turned out to be a pretty nice piece. Early flaking, most of the hafting area is well ground, base and sides. There's a fire pop on the other side. No insitus or videos unfortunately, didn't have my camera on me. Thanks for looking HH.

Hey good finds. Nothing like a little construction scratching the earth to give up some nice points. That fire pop is a shame. I do not think they knew of :"Smokey the Bear" :laughing7:
Early stuff for sure.

very nice stuff, is that last one a beaver lake? candy creek?

Thanks man...I'm not positive, it has Guilford qualities but around here they are pretty crude, and 9 times out of 10 made from quartzite.

Are Guilfords ground?

Nice hunt. A friend has a point very similar to the stemmed piece, any idea of the material? The second piece looks old, thanks for the look.

Appreciate the comments Viking. My best guess is Hillsdale, a chert that outcrops one county to the west. There is alot of local chert around here that is unrecognized, could be some of that.

Thank you sir...Always looking for recent construction in the right place, I don't think I have long here because it's starting to green up. Gotta take advantage while you can. Alot of stuff seems to be fire damaged around this area. I think " white man " modern fires are more to blame because of the location, just a guess. One side displays well, I can deal with this one, lol.

Nice finds. The fire pop is just part of its long journey here. Nice rescue 37

Nice finds. I've found out the construction sites dry up quickly due to replanting/revegetation.

Like the mini Guilfords.
Nice finds 37.
Thanks for sharin'

Thanks dude...it's like guerrila warfare, hit and run tactics...lol. Get in and out before they throw up the no trespassing signs.

Thanks alot there captain, I'm 36, getting old. As long as I can still walk and bend over nothing else matters, lol. Guess I'll retire the handle when I hit the big 38.
