recent field finds 5/26/09

Got out today and hunted between rainshowers in ankle deep mud, it's been dumping the rain lately. The flint was everywhere, though mostly small worked off flakes I did manage a few decent pieces. A good hematite rubstone, couple of scrapers, a small hafted scraper, archaic point with a broken base and a dalton? heartbreaker I'm still not over. Oh well at least I know I'm in the right spot. My hunting partner had an unfortunate start to the day, he got cemented in the mud, came out of his wading boots and went down for the count in 6 inches of mud. He ended up laughing it off though and I told him it happens to the best of us. The last three pics are recent purchases, 10 Ky preforms and a curved sonora uniface tool. thanks for looking, and good luck on your next hunt.

to bad about your buddy,header in the mud cant be a good way to start off a hunt.nice finds,looks like that may be a dalton base,you are in the right spot that uniface tool is a very cool artifact.

oh that is too funny you have to laugh. Those boots get stuck and you are going down. Looks like a good day anyhow and your mail box finds look really nice. The knapping on that last pic is something isnt it?

thanks guys, there's not alot you can do Tn, either keep sinking or get dirty lol. The edgework on that piece is killer, fits the hand really well.
