Received New DFX

I have been waiting for 2 weeks for my new DFX. Recieved today, but it's to cold and wet. Guess i'll have to set around and read the manual. I'll also can figure out what I want for my Christmas Shopping Dollars. I have always used analog detectors. I was told that I would have to unlearn some of the things I have used on analog detectors. Can't wait for some dry weather.

Wow Camb, that sucks!!! I would go nuts knowing I couldn't use it yet!!! Anyhow, congrats on the new detector and post some pics when you start finding the good stuff!!

Congrats on the new machine...contact White's on the internet and get the book "Understanding Whites DFX" written by the head honcho over there...it's free and very informative. Snowed heavy here in Michigan last night so in Illinois you'll probably have lots of time to read it.

Hey there Camb1, I just got Sierras' book in the mail too and it's great so far. I don't even own a Whites and it makes me want one. Sounds like you got yerself a real good 'un there buddy. As mentioned already but worth repeating, don't be shy about doing some air testing. Gather up a bunch of your past finds, of as many different flavors as you can get and start learnin' right there on a clear, metal free area on your living room or basement floor, depending maybe on where the wife will let ya swing that thing.

Good luck with new machine. I have been using the DFX for about a year now and wouldn't trade it, even though I think I still have a lot to learn about it.
Get the book "Digging Deeper with the DFX" by Jeff Foster, it's full of in depth information on the DFX.

I know how you feel, I got my new DFX and I've had one day to use it since then. And that day was below freezing all day long but it didn't keep me from getting out with it. We've had snow or rain every weekend since....come on spring..! Good luck with your new machine. I know you're gonna love it.

Welcome to the DFX club! Yer gonna love it! I hear ya, cold, snowing, frozen here in Chicago. Can't hunt! At least the Bears won.
