Really strange seal?

Hi All,

Had a few minutes to dig today.. So I was searching around my parents back yard. Found these 2 strange things buried about 5 - 6 inches down. They seem to be lead.. just over 1/8 in thick and mabye double the diameter of a quarter.. They both seem to have the "pi" sign in a circle on one side and what looks like a crude serpent. Im at a loss on this one. One broke a bit when i was pulling it out of the ground. This one seems to have a "74" etched into its back. I hit a small void as I was digging them but havent had a change to investigate it since I was running out of time. Ill have to check it again mabye tommorow. Any ideas of what these could be would be greatly appreciated!

Went out yesterday and redug the hole to about a foot deep and a foot and a half wide. Sifted the soil to see if there was anything else in there.. Didnt find a thing.. Im stumped..

You wouldn't happen to be in the Philadelphia area would you? I remember reading some months ago about a society that used the Pi symbol and a serpent as a ceremonial seal. Let me try to dig this up.

I believe what you have there are a couple of lead seals. Look around the out side edge and see if it looks like a very thin wire was crimped inside. trk5capt...

Are you sure that that is a serpent? From the picture on the right it looks possibly like a scorpion. If it is, then the Pi symbol and the Scorpion may have to do with astrology or the occult depending on age. Just a thought.
