While i was out at my bottle dig spot in my forest today i dug up this bottle and think its very nice looking. I would like to know what brand this is as i do not recognize the "w" printed all over it, and would also like to put an age of it. This might be a common bottle or something but i am really new to bottle digging and am still learning, most stuff from this hole is from around 1930's if that helps, thanks

Hello Evan,

Welcome to TNet, and thanks for showing us your bottle.

It's machine made, likely dated 1913 to 1918. I think it's a Canadian whiskey; which brand escapes me thus far.

:) that's older than i thought it would be so im happy about that, In the same spot i found this bottle i found a few other bottles marked "Wiser's Distillery" and since the bottles were from the same place i think they may have a connection? It would make scene since people like to stick to the same brands.

Thank you for you input :)

it's a 1930 Hiram Walker and Sons whiskey Bottle, Walker's logos of the shield with the Capital "W" topped with a crown. Hiram Walker started his distillery on the Canadian side of the Detroit River because of prohibitionist activity in the states in the 1850's. He created and built the town of Walkerville for his employees, it included schools, hospitals, churches, a music hall and homes. He was very successful and as a result his whiskey is still being made today. He made "Canadian Club Whiskey" a household name.

Thanks for all the information Nova Treasure, its really appreciated. The age is exactly what i had originally thought in the 1930's as almost everything from this hole has been from that time period. Its a very nice looking bottle. Thank you for also giving me a bit of background information about the company, very interesting ::
