Really bad news for me

I am really hating life right now... I just bought a brand new ace 250.
I picked it up from the post office and afterwards i go to the convenient store to get milk for my daughter.
when i come out my door is open and my detector is GONE!!!
i found out later the lock on my door is puched out.

I have been saving change that me and my wife could spare to get this detector and some @#$ hole had to steal it away from me..
What is this world coming to... what do i do now

If anybody out there has any extra detectors laying around and not using i will be glad to take it off your hands. I don't care if it is radio shack.

and i am not the type to ask for handouts but i am on my last leg

He did say the lock was punched out, but yeah, that really sucks! :-\
 

wow,sorry to hear that,and you never got to swing that baby.keep yer eye out,check pawn shops and watch the parks for somebody with your ace,got serial #s?
 

I don't know how many authorized Garrett repair center's there are, but you might want to contact Garrett. If you have the serial number, see if they can put it on a hotline, or whatever, to their repair centers. There can't be that many? It may take a while, but have 'em to look out for it, on a repair.

Time to start saving for another one.
You saved once. If you really want a detector,
you can do it again.

Hey Rob ........sorry to hear about your detector, that does suck big time and it proves again there are a lot of people in this world raised without morals. What part of the Poconos are you in? I have friends in several of the "Pocono" areas like Blakeslee, Mt Pocono, etc that I will alert to your theft so they may keep an ear out........never know when someone will brag to the wrong person.

Check with your insurance agent and see if one of three things apply. Do you have theft coverage for contents stolen from your car? Don't assume ask them. Do you have home owners insurance and does it cover items stolen from your car? Again ask them. Finally ask the cops if there is a crime victims restitution fund that could get you a replacement detector? good luck, siegfried schlagrule

WOW. didn't take that scum bag long to knock your lock out huh..hopefully you will get another 1 soon so you can get out there and get to swing'in..
like mentioned before ,check with the pawn shops ,flea markets etc.. GOOD LUCK.
 

If you had insurance on your make a police report and turn it in. If you have house insurance you can also make a police and turn it in on your house insurance on your personal property. Years ago I had a bounty hunter stolen from my car and I turn it in an they payed me for it....Matt

When my CZ got stolen from my car we knew who did it. The local stoner who has parents living one block over. I repeatedly stuffed their mailbox with flyers about my detector. Had to give a copy of the police report to every pawn shop in the area before any of them would tell me if they saw it. Never got it back.

Did repeatedly raid the stoner's haunts after that. He has several remote woodsites where he goes with others to get wasted. In the summer I usually tear up everyting they leave out once a month or so and chase them through the woods as well.

About all one can do.

If you get desperate and start jonesing for a machine, I'll meet you somewhere along I80 and let you have my 3000. I haven't used it in years and it will need a lower rod...and like I said, it's a bear to use....but you'll also find out how detecting used to be back in the day without all the fancy stuff on todays machines. Save your 40 bucks...

Dang dude, I am really sorry to hear that. I do hope you called the police to inform them of the problem. Even if it doesn't get you, your detector back, at least they can watch the area so more thefts don't happen to others.
 

Could not help noticing all the finds you got prior to your detector being stolen on your profile. If you just got the detector and had just picked it up from the post office, what detector were you using prior to that one. Would you not just continue using the same detector?
 

Something I thought of, what about showing a police report to Garrett and see if they will sell you another one for 1/2 off?

I had Another ace but I sold it to a member of tnet
Because I needed the money at the time.

I did what I had to do and it helped but I did need another so I saved
Loose chang and bought another.
 

Anybody up for a clad donation day? Moderators can you help with this? or bad idea?
