reality - the "down" side

Gold Hound is an inspiration to us all ..

here's a little of my reality this season - not out the inlet - back in yard and engine out -

sept 2 014.jpg

can I log this as an empty hole?

working on getting back running as soon as I can - clear, cold and calm sounds like Dec to me

Re: reality - the "down" side

I dont see any rods or pistons hanging out the side of the block or pan. What happened to the cat that you cant work on it in the boat?

Re: reality - the "down" side

Reminds me of the Conq last year:

Re: reality - the "down" side

if its a 3208 it probably dropped a valve into a piston. every single 3208 I've seen in a shop was for a dropped valve.

Re: reality - the "down" side

actually it was swine flu - came out of the "Gold Hawg" - not usually a problem with 3208s but...
coughing up oil like a sick cat

I'm a soft hearted gal and decided to take care of the poor little thing while there was enough left to rebuild
tho i guess a piston hangin out would have been more dramatic maybe could have taken out the turbo too

this step is a bit more engine work than I'm up to so most efficient thing is to get it somewhere to be fixed

don't know why I'm explaing this - but thanks fisheye you are my kind of guy - i like the "it don't look broke"
optimism - that's always my first call
