When I first started shaving that's the razor I used. Then came the disposable world of razors, BIC pens and lighters. Now your old lighters, pens and razors are antique and collectible. Some of the old straight edge razors have gone up a bunch in recent times. I see an old one from Sweden sold for $1500. just last month. Good stuff.

Nice finds. I just got into the razors. I Bought a gold aristocrat like yours for a buck and sold for $23. No box and not near as nice as yours. Last month I got a Gillette atra, metal handle, still sealed in the package for a buck from gw. Sold that for $50. Great job!

Nice razor. I bought one like that, not as fancy though, for $3, use it everyday, much better shave imo, also much cheaper than the disposables.

Nice buys Marty. Thanks for sharing...

That Aristocrat is the find of the week. I think you can get more than $100 or $125 if it is as good as it looks. Early 1960's looks like. Do you know how to date them with the code? I see the 1 but not the letter.
[h=1]1950-1988 (letter codes)[/h]
The single-letter date codes are accompanied by a number, which corresponds to the quarter of the year. So 'O-1' means 1969, January-March. Date codes on blades (see above) also continued through this period.

Got the razor for $10 and the Case knife for 50cents. Its an early XX Case, a bit of use but should fetch more than 50 cents and the razor I am hoping for at least $100- $125.

Thanks for the list, very helpful. The one I got is a J 1. 1964

I have been keeping a lookout for razors also. Its a niche item that a lot don't know about. Here is the last one I got 2 weeks ago for $520140430_223703.webp Gillette pre date code.

It's hard to tell in that picture but it looks like the razor is chrome and the ball is gold. The pattern looks like it resembles a plaid design instead of knurling. If so, I have the same razor with silver plating. The actual model name escapes me at the moment but it is referred to as a ball end tech. Nice razor

I would like to see pictures of the razors you got last weekend. If you get a chance post them. I am curious.

I found this in a house last month and I did find a Y on it, so does mean it is from the 50`s ? I have found a few of these last year, now I have to go find whatever box I put them in

The number stamp on the opposite side is a quarter mark. Your razor is a 3 piece ball end tech, made in the months of july/aug/sept of 1953

thanks bc64 I followed the chart with your info and see it now and am able to date the others I found

NJ Marty,

Here are some of the pictures that you requested of my razors. All of these are from garage/estate sales in the past 2 months. I don't always post my finds on here so consider this a delayed posting.

First picture is a silver plated razor that i was never able to figure out. Late 1930's, It is short like a Travel but not small enough. It also came with the matching silver plated razor safe. $5.00 The pair of silver razors are mid & late 60's Gillette TTO adjustables. Both from the same place, excellent condition, 5.00. The black handled razor is a Gillette "Black Beauty" 1969, 5.00 at an estate sale. I had to sweet talk the sister of the man running the sale in order for her to sell it to me. $5.00:thumbsup:

These next 2 are really nice examples of never used/in the box. The first is a "New" with the paper label and the second is a Aristocrat TTO with the razor safe and pack of King Gillette blue razors. I think i paid between 10-15.00 for each of these. I've got quite a few more nice razors that i don't have pictures of now but can take some later if you want to see more.
