RE: Snoopy 'The Prince Of Sandwiches Butternut Bread' Coffee Mug

Please help me to identify what company manufactured this mug. Looks like fire glass but it could be a fake ad mug. I do not have the proper books to determine authenticity. I attached a copy of the pic under an old ebay listing. Thanks

Hello towen,

Welcome to TNet. According to the ebay listing it is Fire King, which was a product of Anchor Hocking. Fire-King

people can buy plain white fire king mugs and have logos/ads printed on them and then resell them listing them as genuine vintage fire king. I know its on ebay but that doesnt mean fire king actually made this mug

You're losing me, towen. Do you have an actual example of this mug, and can you put up photos?

Good luck with your quest.

My question is this.. Is there any proof that Anchor Hocking or any other company actually manufactured this mug that was sold on ebay?

People have been selling fake mugs on ebay before..the only way to know if anchor hocking or another company actually produced this mug is through an fire king collectible reference book which I do not have at the moment yet. I was hoping someone here might be able to look it up.

If you click on the (red worded) link I just attached, it will take you to the ebay page which shows the mug I am referring to. Thanks

Yes, this was an advertising mug for Interstate Brands. Interstate Brands ? Peanuts Advertise Bread & Snacks | CollectPeanuts.com
Although we can't see the bottom of the mug in that listing I have no doubt it's a Fire King. However, what is happening these days is the image is being recreated on mugs that were plain, and can be bought for a buck apiece. My understanding is that minor errors are often made in the image... So, I guess I get your question, we need to see a known original to compare that image to.
