Re: Re: First finds

Sorry. First time pictures. Hope these are better. Have to get a handle on resizing and posting. I hope I did it!!

Hi! I'm new to treasurenet. You have a great site. I thought it would be a good place to find some info. on this pottery piece. The pottery and arrowhead were found on what I believe was a Mahican site near
Richmond Pond in western Massachusetts. Unfortunately, it is the site of condominiums now. No more digging.
In years past, it was a flower farm with fields that were plowed every year. All you had to do is look down to find all kinds of fragments. I've found only a couple of whole points, although others have found beads and axe heads. Thanks for any comments. I hope to post again soon.

Re: Re: First finds

Nice finds berkshiregold. The point looks to be a Woodland type and the Pottery piece I doubt is Indian and is more than likely early settler.

Re: Re: First finds

Welcome to the forum from another Ma resident.
Congrats on finding the point, it's a beauty.
I have yet to find a point in Ma [or anywhere] but am getting close with some flakes and chips found as well as some hardstone tools.
If you're ever looking for someone to go out and hunt with, drop me a line. I'm in central Ma but would travel to the west if there was more hope of finding stuff.
