Hi all, I went on a "mini-hunt" today for about an hour at a neighbor's yard I checked about 3 weeks ago. When I checked it the first time, there were so many pennies and junk targets it literally wore me out, and I swore I'd never return..but you know how that goes..the yard wasn't even that large..

Sometimes you get to search huge yards with not many targets, other times you get small yards with lots of targets. With this yard, it was definitely the latter.

Besides the clad coins I missed a few weeks back, here's what I didn't recover the first go around..

First I found this 1945 New Zealand half penny:

Then I found this, any info is appreciated..at first I thought it was a pin..it measures about 1" wide by 1 1/4" long.

I thought this was really cool..an old cuff link..the style looks antique to me..

This was a really nice knife once..found in the back yard:

Hey how come your not working...the rain is comin in soon and your out goofin off... ;) :D ;D

Well if you must know, I run a lawn service and I'm caught up until tomorrow..with my luck though it'll rain and that'll throw my schedule off..

I may have stayed out a bit longer this morning but I honestly don't enjoy MDing in the heat and humidity. What happened to spring? It's almost 85 degrees here and we're barely into May..

Finding that foreign coin reminds me of a yard I hunted once. Back in 83 a lady asked me to look for her lost ring. Among other silver U.S. coins I dug a big German Mark and she started to cry. Her late husband had brought it back with him after WWII and shortly thereafter lost it.

That's a great story..that single coin was a find in itself. When I bought my first detector, I tried my yard first and pulled up a 1942 Jamaican coin, which I thought was very unusual. I also found a dime from the Netherlands, an Israeli coin, 3 different Mexican coins, 2 Japanese coins and a few others in private yards and in areas close to home.

Thanks everyone, actually the knife pic was taken after I knocked some of the caked rust off, scrubbed it with a tooth brush and soaked it in oil..too bad the blades weren't stainless..the nickel parts and handle held up quite well.
