RARE Virginia pre-civil war breastplate

I dug this my last time out which was just over a week ago. These are extremely rare and very valuable. Being in Ohio I never dig Confederate items but recognized the state seal and knew it had to be good. This is in amazing condition for being in a farm field.

Amazing find! Having been born in Virginia and my lineage being here in Virginia since 1633, a Virginia plate of any kind has been on my wishlist forever. Makes me want to search more for some elusive Va infantry camps I know are in a certain area nearby. I like how they poked a few holes to keep using it after losing part/all the attachment hook.

It had a pin that was soldered on but it must have broken off at some point. That's probably when the holes was drilled in it. I will try to get a picture up
