Hello,
Not hunting so much this year. Likely my slowest year to date. Well I went out yesterday (Sunday Oct. 30th, 2011) Battling with thoughts of its to cold, I don't have enough gas and other excuses I could come up with. I figured I could go cause I knew I would regret it later if I did not... With not much hope of finding anything. I went out to the hunted out small local town park. Hunted by me, my main hunting partner for the last 8 years and several other hunters since 1969.... I was hunting the trashy areas trying to pick out the coin signals among the trash... Digging the strange cent signals, signals that went bellow cent. Skipping the clearly clad/zinc signals.. I came across a penny signal that would bounce bellow IH signal, so lower than VDI of 55... I pop out a plug and right away the coins seemed odd to me... I was first thinking "Is this an IH Cent?" "No, is it wheat...??" " Hmmm, must be a Lincoln cent " I looked it over some more and Holly #$%* its a Flying Eagle... I found my first Flying Eagle Cent !!! Its in bad condition, can't really read any letters or numbers.. If you look close you can see the well known "Flying Eagle..." Almost every cent I have found I've hoped for a Flying Eagle.. Every IH and every wheat, I have hoped and thought for a Flying Eagle... The one time I think its an IH or Wheat it ends up being my flyer... This is a huge milestone for me and I hope your inspired by it, someone says they see 1856 what do you see ?? I have one good picture that came out!! I also added a picture of a clearer Flying Eagle Cent so those who don't know what one is, will now... hope you enjoy !!
Also wishing everyone a Happy Halloween !!
Keep @ it and HH !!
