Anyone know the rarest five or ten large cents in terms of circulation numbers? I know the best one to find is the 1793 chain cent, but how about among the regular large cents with the wreath on the back? Thanks.
There's a link. The values are 60% higher than you might expect to sell one and 20% higher than you should pay to buy one.
Unfortunately, you have to click on each date to get the circulation. You might want to check a magazine rack (at the grocery store, etc.) for a $5 copy of Coin Prices. Well worth it.
In terms of rarity as you mentioned any 1793 Chain Cent. Also any 1793 cent, 1799 and 1804 are the top rarities by date. There are other varieties with other dates that can be kinda spendy also.
The 1793 strawberry leaf and the 1794 starred reverse are much rarer than the chain cent. Not sure of exact numbers, but only a few known of the strawberry leaf.
