Rare CW or pre CW Virginia militia plate? Need help with ID

Found this partial plate about 2 inches down. The brass is super thin. Much much thinner than a recent model 1851 officer Eagle plate I found. Wording is Sic Semper Tyrannis. With Virginia underneath. Been trying to research and can't nail this. Any thoughts would be very appreciated.

The article discusses fake ones, but has details about the originals too (I'm not suggesting yours is fake, and I really wouldn't know one way or the other)

I am no expert in this and can not figure this out.. I sent this off to Ridgeway as he seems the man. The fact that it is super thin with no GW marks on back makes me think it may be authentic.

Looks very similar to the pre-war Virginia belt plates which were also very thin metal. I have attached a picture of a complete buckle from Stanley Phillip's relic book. You can see how thin the metal is (stamped with no lead fill). Awesome find!!

In trying to find an exact match, I found one in Kerksis' book that is shown on page 433. Note on your example that the very tip of the wheat is somewhat rounded. Many were much more pointed. He says your plate is circa 1840.
