Although it was a bit hot (low 80's in Feb?!), I got out again and started pounding the weeds in the vicinity of my shell and bullet finds from a few days ago. First find was the nice shell frag (any help with what kind of shell it is would be appreciated).

Then came the very abused Minie Ball i have two pictures of... Initially I thought it was just heavily rammed, but upon cleaning it up some and noticing some of the flared out edges on the top, it looks more like the ramrod was still seated when the rifle was fired. What do y'all think?

Also scored a rivet with leather still present, as well as my first bullet in wood (weighs in at 178 grains total, so I'm thinking it is a pistol bullet?). A few buck-n-ball loads popped out, as well as a couple .36 and .44 pistol balls. Thanks for looking, and happy hunting! 8-)

Nice relic hunt!

Great finds. The bullet in the wood is very cool. I'd say you are right about the ramrod. Congrats [emoji106]
