Here's what I came up with today. I overpaid on the coasters and serving knife since the handle is the only silver and the coasters have so little I paid a bit over melt at $20. $20 for the PSP isn't a slam dunk but hopefully I can make $10 on it.
Had a fun time at my first ever auction, sure it was a goodwill auction but nonetheless. Got this pre-1921 Whiting and Davis mesh purse/bag thing. I know it's pre-1921 because that was the year they changed their mark as they copyrighted(is that the right term) "Whiting and Davis Mesh Bags". The mark on it says Whiting and Davis Co and then has a mark that looks either like a 6 a 9 or a dot in a rectangle. and also a mark that says "d mesh" which is an incomplete stamping of the mark "soldered mesh". The "Whiting & Davis Co." mark was poorly stamped and you can barely read the Whiting portion which got me excited at first when I thought the incomplete stamp was "Sterling" at first( didn't see the ampersand). In any case I got it for $17 as the only bid after the silent bids had brought it to $16. Not silver but cool as heck in any case.
