Rain gods were nice, MD gods, not so

Rain gods gave me an after work break so I headed to a park that has a very slight incline as I knew most parks would be a mud pit so any high ground, all be it just a few inches was good enough to MD. But first - the playground beckoned. I hit it late last fall so didn't expect much. 2 nickels and 6 cents. Some areas had the woodchips still frozen solid.

I then hit the park - 1 quarter, 3 nickels and 15 cents. Of course pull tabs, can slaw, etc were also unearthed. I did manage a fake (cheap-o) ring and a St Rita/Pray for Us medallion that was also junk. Knew that when I dug it up as silver doesn't rust LOL.

oz_il,
glad you were able to do some detecting.
Use that St Rita medallion, get some gold and silver
next time ;D

Did the same as you, got out for about an hour this morning.
Did a park area; like you said, chips frozen.

Thanks for posting.

Bet that ring gave you a thrill, if only for an instant... ;D
Actually no - rang up as a dime (clue #1 not gold) and I've found so many fakes VS the real deal I know consider anything gold fake, then check it out hoping the other way. I found an 18K ring on the surface of a playground (stone was missing) and just figured it was a fake. Brought it home and see 18K and a maker's mark :P Rains came down hard and wiped the area clean where I found it. Had no clue on where to look for the stone.

Only me :'(

Don't you hate it when the plating starts flaking off?

Still glad to hear you got some time to get out

Take care,
