In Canada as well as the United States theres bound to be many empty railroad tracks never to be used again. In Canada, the early railroads had a station house every 7 miles, of which, in the middle of nowhere there are countless well maintained; sort of, brick buildings, still used by the outdoorsmen.
Alot of "spur" tracks run off the main lines and lead to a wealth of articles ranging from old mines, towns, canaries and whatnot; including as i have found, old trading posts and the gold dust and coins under the floor boards or where "they" used to be.
even the tracks themselves are worth money if you have a way to remove them. I have entered buildings in old ghost towns that have an inch of dust on the floors and unremoveable furniture. I found a manor house of an old orchardist and the masontry fire place and hearth brought me several thousand dollars from a treasure house 80 miles away over rough terrain. They had the means to hire a helicopter but needed the information.
