can anyone tell me anything about the marks on this spike? Appears to be the letters CY or GY on the head, along with a diamond shape directly below. Spike is 7 1/4 inches long and 1/2 by 1/2 inch square along the shaft. Found in southwest virginia. thanks.

After doing some research ive found out that a Cu stamped on the head means that it contains some amount of copper. the diamond symbol still eludes me tho.
 

there are tons and tons of railroad spikes, it could mean anything
