Has anyone ever found anything like this? I know its an old button of sorts but haven't found anything on this one. It was about 10 inches deep. Thanks!

It is neat! Here are a few more with trains .. There were many .. seemed to be a popular theme at the time. Yours is in No. 8

These are some of the RR buttons I've found....all came from the same camp spot on an old wagon road heading from a long gone siding, about 1 mile from the S. Pacific line in AZ. All the buttons are from the same spot, and the Wheatback is dated 1918, which they took a pair of pliers to....as well there were several 45acp casings with 1918 dated headstamps. So, I'm sure they were all lost sometime after 1918, but probably date from the timeframe mud hut suggests.
The nickel plated passenger car button is very unique and has a loose eyelet with a ring on it, and the rest are probably coverall buttons.

The nickle plated one is a wobble-shank Carhartt's coverall button,and would be the same design as No. 6 in the photo. It was a spare button sewn in by the loop. Cool button!

The two flanking the Carhartt's are actually work clothes studs, probably either off of a jacket or work pants.
