Radios

I did the whole CB thing back in the day. Use them for work now but that's it.

I have a Radio Shack TrunkTracker Pro that runs most of the time. Got started using a scanner when I was shooting news video for a living.

Did some shortwave in my past.
Collected the QSL cards.

Spent many a long night searching.

Radio not even hooked up now; sitting
in the basement.

have a good un..

Not sure on the I. D. of the radio, would have to dig it out.
Was the top of the line "DX some #", shortwave from radio shack, 20 years
ago. Still works fine when last I used it.

All types of long wires.

Was a neat hobby.

Understand more and more countries are now shutting down
their shortwave service.

There were several "pirate" station operating off the east coast
at the time. Did get one card from one of them. Also somewhere
have an album full of the old cards and other items they would send
out.

Hm Sherman.........might be a DX 300 or DX 302. Those were great radios, I bought one off Ebay recently! :icon_thumleft:

Sure, I've got more radios than I can count. I still turn one on sometimes. I've heard over 5,000 stations between longwave beacons, AM & FM broadcast, NOAA weather, several hundred shortwave stations from about 210 countries.
Got started in 1965 with an AM pocket radio.

Got a pirate QSL in person but they got busted by local FCC after being heard by FCC monitoring station in Hawaii. A good list for what's still in English on shortwave is here: www.primetimeshortwave.com & I know about the scanner site www.radioreference.com but don't listen much. Best regards, George (MN)

I used to build radios. These days, I buy them, too busy to build them. I have owned Realistic, Radio Shack (different then their Realistic brand), Eton, Grundig. My last Grundig was actually Chinese made and cheap. It ended up having a cold joint and failed intermittantly.
