Here's mine and I have only found one ever too. Mine has the Letters the same too, "D" at the start and end. It's called a palindrome or as was said, a radar bill. It can be read the same forward or backwards.

There's even a rarer bill, one that can be read the same forwards and backwards, rightside-up or upside-down.

It's palindromic and anagramic. It reads the same from every direction.

I read somewhere that there would be 256 possible $1 bills in each series at each bank or mint that do this, being both palindromic and anagramic. Four possible anagramic numbers 0, 1, 8, with 6 and 9. There are a total number of bills of 99999999 serial numbers but I would think that less than that amount are printed, which means fewer then 256 which makes it very rare to be both palindromic and anagramic.

Good luck finding one of those!

Re: RADAR bills - post 'em here!!

I was wondering if someone was gonna call me out on the letters not being the same on either end :P ....oh well, it's still the only one i've ever come across. And it's only 5 bucks....i'm worried for the day i find a $20 radar bill - that would be a little harder to hang on to just because of the numbers!

Re: RADAR bills - post 'em here!!

i found a $1 bill with the serial number 16666661 at work the other day. uncirculated too, didnt keep it tho

Re: RADAR bills - post 'em here!!

maybe I should stop Roll hunting, and just go get $5 wraps.

Re: RADAR bills - post 'em here!!

those bills are kind of rare with the back/forwd number.

also look for bills with a star at the end of the serial numbers..they are keepers as well..if you see the star you'll know

Re: RADAR bills - post 'em here!!

Take this sentence and reverse the letters, ignoring punctuation and spacing. It is called a Palindrome, kind of Radar bills with letters:

Go Hang a Salami, I'm a lasagna hog.

Re: RADAR bills - post 'em here!!

The fewer different numbers within a radar bill sequence also increases the value of the bill. ie. D12344321F would be worth less than D12222221F. Another bill to look out for is the low serial number. ie. D00004153F. Anything under 0100000 is considered a low number bill.
