RIP Burt.Back in the early 70s we use to spend some time at his dinner theater in Jupiter Fla. He was truly one of a kind. Back then my buddy was his head chef at the theater. Some stories he would tell .

I have fond memories of being 12 and watching Smokie and the Bandit at the Drive In with the family

I have fond teenage memories of going to the drive in on dates but never saw a movie....

Always Suave and one of the first models to pose for playgirl. Claimed that Dina Shore, much older, was the true love of his life! She forced him away when she learned she had end stage cancer.

Via Con Dios Burt!

End of an era. I was 16 when Deliverance played in theaters. Might be fitting to play this at his funeral.

Bet I know what he's doing right now:)

Never knew that car existed. Bet owning one of those gets real popular now.

I liked him as Gator in White Lightening.

I was stationed at Parris Island, S.C. from 1976- 1979. I was from Stone Mountain, Georgia and was heading home for the weekend driving over the causeway to the island and listening to the radio. They were filming parts of Smokey and the Bandit all around my hometown and county in the summer of 1977. The radio stated that a stunt driver let the vehicle get away from him (the black Trans Am) and it crashed into some bleachers at Redan ball park in Redan, Georgia, about 5 miles from our house. I told myself, I know where that is as I was headed that way. It doesn't seem that it has been 41 years ago. I always liked Burt Reynolds as an actor. Personally one thing that I believe made him such a star was that he didn't seem to take himself too seriously. He was good in most every film he made, but I really thought he was great in his parts in the movies Deliverance and The Longest Yard. R.I.P. Burt Reynolds. He brought a lot of entertainment and laughter to the world.

Does this mean that Sally Fields is available? FINALLY!!!!!

That was the most I ever saw of her! Very Nice!

Rest in peace Burt.

Godspeed Burt. I don't think there was a movie he played in that I didn't like. Just think if he didn't have an injury while playing football, he may never have become an actor.

Do you know he turned down offers to play lead roles as James Bond & Indiana Jones.
