OK, so I didn't use a metal detector. Normally I wouldn't post a find like this on here but this one is a little different. Normally when I walk into the grocery store I always check the coin star machine to see what coins are in the reject holder. On a good day I can find 1 or maybe 2 dollar coins (these coins are always rejected). Well today I walked in and checked and couldn't believe it, the reject holder was full of GOLD! It took two hands to get all 12 of them. Today was a good day!

All I ever find in those machines are a few bent or corroded coins. You hit the jackpot. Did you yell "I WON, I WON!!"

OK, clue me in here-do you work at the grocery store and have a key to open up the "reject" holder, or are you just a "regular citizen" who knows where to look? In any event, that's a heck of a find-Congrats!

The Reject holder is on the front of the machine so if I dump my coins in the top, any that are not accepted are discharged into the reject holder. Its the responsibility of the person using the machine to check it before they walk away but most people don't. So I come along and glance down into it and if I am lucky I get a coin or two (or like yesterday I get 12).

I hope this explains a little better.
