Good chance that buckles 17th C.

Nice finds Joe. Not certain of the age of the buckle, but looks old to me- Congrats!

Very nice hunt, very cool buckle and old copper! :occasion14:

In the photos the buckle appears to be stamped brass, but I can't tell for certain. If it's stamped then I've found several similar buckles and the one below actually still attached to some of the original leather:

This was found at a site that was occupied no earlier than 1850 and no later than 1890. Based on the leather and the fact that it's very light and weak metal I thought these were adjustment strap buckles from boots or similar footwear. Could be wrong on that, but this particular example also has a little of the original nickel plating so definitely late 19th or early 20th century.

Joe do you ever go out and NOT find an old copper?! I always look forward to your posts, nice haul

Nope, I was on a serious copper drought, it had been a few months then I got 2 this weekend. Now I’m on a silver drought but we’re heading to a nice old spot today once my buddy gets medication for his newest batch of poison ivy (lol, I’m immune)

Nice!!! Congrats!!!
