Quick Morning Hunt - My First Franklin

Hi all,

I went out early for just a little while to finish searching one of those private yards up the street..I began digging some clad, more toy cars, and only 1 wheat penny.

In the corner of the back yard, I got a strong 50 cents signal, so I was hoping for a Kennedy half. When I saw the shine I said, "Silver Kennedy!" Then I wiped off some of the dirt and found it was a Franklin!

There's 2 scratches across the head..I was VERY careful digging just in case it was a coin..the scratches look and feel smooth, as if they'd been there for awhile..either way it was neat to find!

Nice big silver ! Been at it about 4 years and have yet to find anything bigger than a quarter, with the exception of a clad Ike dollar (my luck)

WTG Nat, that is one hefty bit of silver........I remember a friend of mine walking up to me at the park with one of those saying he ran into some "Big Silver". Big it is. Congrats.

Have never hit one of those halves before. I use to have an entire collection that I recently sold (last year). Keep up the great finds and continue posting.... I'm enjoying this...

I vividly remember all the Fraklins I have found, all both of them...lol, very exciting find Nat, congrats!! Beautiful coin even with the customization.

That's one you will never forget for sure. I found my first one right in the middle of a huge trashy area. I got tired of digging junk and upped the descrimination just to see what I could find.
