I received my 6 inch coil for the equinox today and wanted to try it out some before the long hunt tomorrow. I went to an old torn down farmhouse down the road from me, where the whole area is LOADED with nails, modern bullets, and other iron pieces. I specifically wanted to try the coil here due to all the trash. About a minute into the hunt i get a high tone that isnt showing the vdi but is consistent. I dig a little plug to test it again and I get a constant 29 on the nox. I dig a deeper plug and pull out this sterling silver ring. Myself and my buddies have hit this place quite a few times, so I was excited that this was my first hole. I ran around for another 30 minutes or so but didnt find anything else worth while. I got fooled by a few nails though so I switched my machine back over to FE instead of F2 and that seemed to help a lot. I was running recovery at 7 and iron bias at 2. My first impression of the coil is that I really like it so far. I need to do more testing of course, but this is a good start.
