Had about an hour to hunt today, due to the fact I got out of bed way too late! I decided to go back to one of my "beat" sites as one of the fields appeared to have been freshly cut. After a quick chat with the farmer I found out the field had only been cut to reduce weeds and he'd rather not have it dug right now. So I trudged up behind the farm to the same site I've hit multiple times before both alone and with Patriot, spanish silver and rev buttons have came out of here before. It's been hit hard but worth a try. Managed a George III copper, looks like 1774? for a possible date, pretty toasty. Also a 1900 Vicky Large Cent, 1943 dime, button with some gilt, buckles, possible piece of musket guard etc. All in all not a bad hour at a beat site, all this rain does do some good! The George III was right in the middle of the iron patch Patriot and I have crisscrossed hundreds of times, makes me wonder what other buttons are hiding out there!

Cool Crotal Bell Shrapnel

Grats on the copper

Rain hunts can be productive as you show. I was going to suggest a croatal bell frag, but Jeff already beat me to it.

You didn't say where you were hunting, and I respect your privacy. But it would be nice to know what province you were in.

Hey any hunt is a good hunt... I'm sure there is more Rev War buttons hiding there..now to get the farmer to plow off a foot of dirt!.. :icon_thumright:

I thought about asking him that yesterday! Even plowing that 40' square right around the site would be awesome, he generally rents out these pastures so I'm not sure he'd go for it. I'll bring it up one of these days haha. Found another good looking area during a drive the other day, worth getting permission I think, I'll give it a test run and if it turns out promising I'll hold out.

That would have been a real nice bell, looks like makers marks on it.

Always nice to dig a piece of silver to add to the pot.

Silver is always good but at a site like this seeing that bluenose is a letdown. But I won't complain too much  Not as much as when one of those gold colored tin juice lids pokes out of the plug, that always gets me going!
