Because my entire family loves these at Christmas...I make about twenty five loaves to give as gifts.

Take frozen bread loaves. Let defrost....place on waxsheet on cabinet and cover with wet tea towel ...so they dont dry out.

In the morning...punch your loaves back down, and on a floured cutting board roll out the dough to a big fat circle.(like a pizza)

Take Apricot,Poppyseed or Almond paste filling and spread heavy and thick over entire circle ....then start at one end and roll up .....its going to get fat. Cut this long loaf in two and pinch ends so filling doesnt come out.. place in greased bread pan.
Let rise just a little. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees....Bake for 1/2 hour....
When done ...sprinkle with confectioners sugar,or drizzle cream cheese icing over it....Yum Yum and Yum :P

Yes it will work...actually you can fill with any type of jam, filling, fruit or nut paste....just pinch the ends...I like to wait until the very end of baking time and then brush butter on the top to give it a nice shiny finish,,......
The entire trick to dough is to let it rise...then punch it back down and let it rise a little again ...before filling and baking.

PS side note if your employer drug tests and you eat poppy seeds you will test "dirty"
for opiates :-\
Ive known this for years not because of that mythbusters show ;)
