✅ SOLVED Questions on a G J & F Paris Button Found

I have recently discovered this gorgeous button. I have looked at some of the photos on this site and others, however, the markings of the eagle are not raised as high and the backing is different. I know that this is some kind of military button, just am unsure of its time period. Any assistance that can be provided for age and possible value would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Your's is very nice and may not have a common back mark like this one that I found:

Ant is right on. It is a post-1902 US Army Great Seal button.

I see others on the internet with the same back mark but not definitive date. Most imply they are WWI era. That seema about right given the construction of the button and the font used for the back mark.
