Questions Concerning Paper Cash

I have no idea what to look for in the realm of paper currency. I know a little about Silver Certificates, Red Seals, etc, but nothing about newer currency. Are there any errors, variations, etc, I could look for as an everyday thing??

As for modern notes in circulation,I am always on the lookout for star notes.Look for a star next to the serial number.I did find a 1950b $20 note last year in my change from a grocery store.If it had been a star note in better condition it would be worth a couple hundred.I save all the old style 10's and 20's,50's and 100's that I get,although I haven't seen any in quite a while now.As far as error notes go,I don't know what's out there.I have been known to go to the bank and search rolls of notes the way some people do with coin rolls on here.I have got several new star notes by doing this.

I'd look around for star * notes or fancy serials.......radar, repeaters, etc.
