I'm kind of in a pickle right now. My main local dump banks that take bags has swapped couriers it seems. They used Loomis when I started but my finds have recently have slacked off big time. Today I got there late and WTF do I see?? A Brinks truck( my supply courier). Is this common practice? Say for instance a contract between banks and couriers but once it expires it can go out for bid?? I currently dump about 50% into another fed district but I just can't wing floating a whole week of boxes to dump there. I could easily dump 100% of my boxes in a 20mile radius to Brinks but that has been my main pickup producer......I've tried the others with minimal results. Any suggestions appreciated. :BangHead::BangHead:

I've seen the Loomis truck at my Garda and Brinks source banks, but the boxes didn't change. So, they might have some delivery coops between the couriers.

I guess they might have changed but you should probably ask the vault teller before you change anything.

I've seen the dunbar truck delivering brinks, the garda truck delivering dunbar and the brinks truck delivering garda. It's all entwined somehow, I wouldn't be too worried about it. talk to the tellers and really find out where the coins go to. I know on their vault slips they have to write where they ship out the coin to and include the location of their bank. I know because I buy bags from a bank with a coin machine and the bags have all the info on them.

I brought this up about a year ago. There is a street near me with 5 different banks and Dunbar delivers brinks, NF string, and loomis boxes to the banks . That's why it does not matter who delivers your boxes in most places

I believe it's all about efficiency. Brinks might take one area while Dunbar takes another. In the end they are probably saving a ton on gas, time, and essentially money.
They do buy from each other's vaults though, I know that for a fact.

Hey buddy, this is the second week in a row that my bag (Delivered by Brinks) had this on it, I'm still kinda scratching my head about it :icon_scratch:. It did have 7 40's and 1 Ben in it though. HH, Maverick.

:coffee2: The banks can switch carriers. One of my pickup banks informed me that they had changed from Garda to Brinks in their district for all their banks because Garda was getting to the banks too late with their coin orders. Garda was showing up after the bank had closed. As far as which carriers are the best for keepers, I always say it is the luck of the draw & not the carrier which would determine that.

Brinks might just be the armored transport vendor for your dump bank.
Unless the rolls or boxes are marked (ie: LOOMIS on the wrap), the only way to know who processes coins is to ask the vault teller.

In my area, I really don't think it matters too much. Most of the first year I was hunting I was ordering boxes in the same district that TimZim was dumping all of his clad and he was dumping it into my supply coin carrier. I still found a ton of silver. I really don't think it is worth putting too much thought into. I actually dump into a different carrier than I pick up from, but that is more because of bank convenience more than planned.

Banks switch carriers every 4-6 months for security. In my area, there is only one processing plant, so all the coin goes and comes from there. DONT worry about it.

Thanks for the advice and knowledge everyone! Wish I could comment on each post but I have two sick kidos that has worn momma out and she needs a break, lol. I've gotten a little info from the vault tellers that I'll share tomorrow.

Thanks BuffaloBoy,
I have been filling out the bag info at one of my branches for a couple weeks now; vault teller hurt her wrist a month ago so I asked her to let me help out. The other day when I brought in a bag already filled she told me of the change and that she had to change bags the past two weeks. She didn't go into too much detail but something to do with the courier showing up really late(sometimes 2 days late) and not bringing the full orders.
