I have a question about the Von Mueller books. In your post Treasure Hunting 101 you talk about Treasure Hunters Manual #6 and #7 by Karl Von Mueller. I followed your advice from a later post and tried interlibrary loan. Today I picked from my library a copy of The Treasure Hunter's Manual, 6th Edition. Is this the same as what you called #6? This book is published by Eight States Associates. If it is the same book according to what you had written it should contain a chapter on dowsing and building your own metal detector. This book appears to contain neither. Please understand, I am not criticizing the info you gave us in your posts. I am merely trying to figure out which book I have and if this version is altered from the original. Thanks for your help. The reading lists have been great. The interlibrary loan idea is a real money saver.

Thanks

Over 10,000 books and 7000 magazines were destroyed in my flood. I no longer have access to the eight states associates edition and do not recall what the differences were. There are two great editions of the THM6. One was privately printed by Karl in Grand Prairie, Texas. The next edition was printed by Gold Bug in Alamo, CA. Eight states then had their edition somewhere in there followed by some bootleg plain cover editions followed by the RAM editions. Karl said that THM6 was ten times the book of THM7. Both of them are five times any other books. Rarely can you get particular editions through interlibrary loan. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find an earlier edition. The prices I listed are what they usually cost. If you beat those prices you got a bargain. All of the early editions are available on line at huge prices. The chapter on building your own detector begins on page 155 of THM6 and the chapter on dowsing begins on page 119, THM7 titled radiesthesia under the chapter titled Instruments and How to Use Them. There is also a paragraph on dowsing rods on page 118 andhe continues talking about dowsing through page 122. exanimo, ss P.S. If you are reading this Parangjim I still can't get a message to you. Once you send me an email address I'll answer your question from last week.

Thanks for the info. I plan to purchase a copy after I finish the 8 states one from the interlibrary loan. I'll just restrict my purchase to either the private printing from Karl or the Gold Bug. Thanks for your help.

RAM editions are better than nothing. When you see them side by side you'll see why I recommended the earlier ones. exanimo, ss
