Im thinking of getting a new MXT and the question I have is about the display and any input would be greatly appreciated! Does it have viewing angle adjustment? And if not has anyone had a problem with the display getting so dark when it is hot and sunny you can not read it. That happend to me quite a bit on my old XLT but with the viewing angle adjustment the problem was solved in a very few short steps. I dont think it has a back light display either. Is that true? Its a shame to make such a great machine with a very informative display you cant use after the sun goes down! With summer coming I will be hunting some old yards in the late evening when it is cooler and dark. But my biggest concern is about the display getting dark in the heat. I hope someone will be kind enough to answer this question for me. Thanks for your help guys and gals.

Hi KFB, I use a Whites M6 which is basically the same display, and I've never had problems. I was out last friday till almost dark and I had no problems seeing the display. The meter is fixed but the angle is really perfect (for me anyways). If you could get to a dealer and try one would be your best bet.
Good luck, MXT's are awesome from what I hear.

I have a mxt and live in Sacramento.it gets hot here. I have not had any problems with the screen getting dark. And there is no screen adjustments, no back lit display eather. but the mxt is a good detector and easy to use too. I Hope you like you're machine when youget it. OOO are you going to get the 300? if let me know how you like it.

I sometimes have a problem when the sun hits the screen just right. But, I think that would be a problem with any detector with a screen.

No angle adjustment and no backlight :( however I keep a little clip on light if I am out late. It clips right onto the display housing. Once dusk settles in the display is hard to see. I have no problems in the heat or bright sun.
