Question about the likelihood of finding Gold near Quartz.

I read once that if quartz were present you would be more likely to find gold. Is this true? Also, what are some signs of a good prospecting site?

Some quartz has gold, most does not. A good place to start finding gold is where it has been found in the past.

Take Aufisher's advice. I used to love panning in the Llano uplift area of Texas. Lots of quartz, but little gold. But try it all. It will surprise you where you find color...
