I have a Garrett GTA1000 Ultra, When i went to clean it the other day, i took it apart so that i could clean it well... And when i did so, I noticed 2 Knobs inside on the Circuit Board that could be adjusted. I have heard of these before, but i was wondering if anyone could shed some light onto what each one does and if i should bother adjusting them at all or leaving them alone. I know they are set at the factory, but what i am wondering is that if i do alot of beach detecting, would either of these knobs be able to be adjusted so that i can detect in the salt water better? I live near the beach, and dont have to many places i can goto to metal detect at... as of now, i can not detect in the water very well at all, so i am wondering if one of these knobs have anything to do with Ground Balancing at all.
If not, could anyone possible tell me what would be the best overall settings that i could set this machine to, that would allow me to not recieve so much false detection? I am really just wanting to find out if i have any option regarding the machine to be any better in the way of ground balancing.
I appreciate the help so much, and i thank you in advance..
Anthony
Also, does anyone know what gta1000 cost when it came out?
p.s. i am using the elliptical crossfire coil that came with the machine. i think it is a 9X12
(Sorry the pics are so big, i am not sure how to adjust them, so here is a link to the photo album of the detector disassembled)
