Question about one of today's finds
Hit a couple of park playgrounds today and found $1.79 in clad, a copper ring, and a pot pipe made to look like a cigarette. My question is about a penny I found. It is a bit thicker than most pennies and it is a 2001-S. According to the Red Book 2001-S pennies were only minted as proofs. Do you suppose someone broke open a proof set to spend? Any other possible explanations? Thanks for looking.
