question about ikes an half proofs

Beginning in 1992 proof Half dollars were produced in both 90% silver and copper-nickle clad, before that all proofs between 1971-1991 (with the exception of 1976) were copper-nickle, the 76 had both but the silver clad was 40%. Between 65-70 all halves were 40% proofs or otherwise, pre 65 were of course 90%.

All Ikes years 71-76 had both copper nickle clad and 40% silver clad proofs, it dosen't apper that any of the 77-78 had a 40% proof.

"S" mint mark doesn't mean silver. It means the coin was minted in San Fransisco. D means Denver and P is Philadelphia. If you're really lucky with dimes, W is for West Point.
