A buddy of mine gave me a point today he found in a box of junk he bought at a sale. Looks like maybe it was glued at one time. Is that what has caused the yellow stain on back? what can I use to clean it up? Any idea what type of point I have here? Thanks for any help. Good luck to you all.... JYD

I'm stumped on this one, never seen anything like that. Maybe try some acetone and a toothbrush ??? Someone else may come along with a better idea, good luck!

Try alcohol. Let it soak overnite if you have to, to soften up the glue. The alcohol shouldn't hurt the stone.
Nice point.

Looks like a Grand point, made of Jefferson city Chert. I'd try soaking it in water first, just to see if it's water soluble. If that doesn't work, then alcohol or acetone is a good bet.

I removed a glued down frame for a friend that they used epoxy. Google said use fingernail polish remover that contained acetone let it sit and brush it off. Scared me to death it was glued to plywood and I had to chisel the points loose. I then soaked them in fingernail polish remover and it was perfect no remains left. Go slow you should be ok. Man it was a beautiful frame of S. Ga Points big stuff. :read2:

id say it was not broke, but glued down? as mentioned before, water then alchohol, then acetone if needed.
