Hi,

I just bought a new 12 V 1000 mAh NiMH recharg. battery pack for my GT

Manual states that when charging the pack , the green light will be on , and start to fade as the pack is charging.

I have had the pack charging for 24 hrs. now and the light is still bright green.???

How long does it take for this new pack to be fully charged...and will the green light disappear as proof that this new pack if fully charged:dontknow:.

Thank you for any help you can give me on the question

Is the red light on the charger coming on?
The charger my not be putting out enough volts. Just a quess
When i got my new GT i charged the battery about 12 hrs. The green light went out and the red light went out on the charger. After checking the charger i figured out it went bad. Called Minelab the next day and they sent me a new one along with a ackline battery pack incase the battery was also bad.
If you have a volt meter you could check the battery and charger.
I would unplug it until i figured out what was going on nd try the GT with the battery as is.
Not much help i know.

Thank you very much for the info and advice, j piddle.

Yes, the red charger light in intact; I checked the pack with a bettery tester..tested GOOD for 12 volt.

I bought two new battery packs , so I am now charging the second one ...will see in 12 hrs what happens with this 2nd one.

Also , I 'll take the first new battery pack out for a trial with the GT.

I may have to phone Minelab if results are not positive.

You know since you have a voltage tester i would also test the charger. It should be putting out 15volts.If not that could be the reason the light is not dimming.

I have two battery packs and they both respond differently as far as the light is concerened.
One of them the light goes completely out once the battery reaches 12 volts.

Really do not think the system is the best going but with the meter you should be able to keep running.

Thank you for the additional info, j piddle; much appreciated.
