quattro or garrett 1500gti

hi there im looking to upgrade my detector ive only been detecting for 2 months i currently use a ace 250 .Ive decided on the quattro or the 1500 gti.I search beaches ploughed fields and pasture fields.Could anyone give me any advice as to which to buy also can you SILENT SEARCH with any of these machines and if so would it affect the depth of the detector.Hope someone can help.THANXS

I had the 1500 sold it but i i miss the GTI on it and they are very good detectors.........Never had a Quattro and i don't think many on treasurenet has them for i do not see much talk about them it is like they don't exist.... .............So for the GTI 1500.. For the Quattro..

'so far' I'm very disappointed in my 1500. Depth is horrible (my ACE250 blows this away), It seems to have an electrical issue with this. Yes, I need to call Garrett next week. My detector is only about 2 months old and I really to hate to send it back.

Positives:
I love the treasure imaging (very accurate IMHO), The Coin ID is about 60-75% accurate so far. The deeper the coin - the less all of those ID's / imaging work. I also think this pinpoints 100% better than the ACE250.

Sorry, I couldn't comment on a Quatro. Only what I use. I just wanted you to know what my opinion is of the 1500.

I had a Quattro, sold it to get a gold hunter, The Quattro takes awhile to learn (in my case,anyway) but they are good machines.

My 1500 is on the way back to Garrett. I'm sure they'll get it fixed. If I can't get the depth then this will be up on ebay within a month or so.

My 1500 lost depth and i sent it in they fixed it in about 1 month it lost depth again i sent it in again in about2 months it lost depth again..............I sold it..................Jim

what was wrong with the quatro? i've been trying to research it but it is almost like trying to snap a picture of bigfoot...i went to a local dealer and the battery pack for it was dead so i couldn't try it out
