Was joking around about how I used to struggle to find anything but quartzite, and how I had graduated out of that lower-class, not-so-pretty stone. Well, yesterday, it seemed that once again, quartzite was about all I could come up with. I did come across a handful of flint, and a nice abrader stone. I've added the photos for your perusal. There actually are a few pieces of interest in the group. The pieces that are lettered are flint, most of the rest is quartzite. The abrader, of course, is sandstone. As always, your comments are appreciated.

Nice docmann. I have some very nice pieces made of quartzite. Amazing what they could do with such a coarse, granulated material.

RPG and Uni,
Thanks for the comments.
While it's difficult to see, Pieces #1, 2, and 4, have fairly nice edge-work (for quartzite). Also, the dark, shiny spot in the middle is actually a nice, thin piece of Obsidian. I should have provided a close-up of that. It's very smooth and flat. Not what one might call an outstanding bag-full of artifacts, but like Uni said, Quartzite needs love too!

Hey Doc
The material may be rough but it sure is pretty. Glad you were able to get out and hunt. We are going under water with our creeks and rivers. Should be some new real estate showing when the water goes down

It may not be gem quality, high grade material, but it obviously got the job done for them. A freshly knapped quartzite edge is super sharp. I've come to like quartzite over the years and enjoy finding it. Plus the white to clear Va. quartzite is easy to find in the mud or creeks, it really stands out, you can spot it from yards away. Thanks for showing your interesting Ok. material.

It's all pretty! I would love to find some quartzite, if it's possible. Isn't it funny, I love finding flint, aside from that, we are over run with sandstone and limestone. At least that's all i'm capable of determining now. They had pieces of obsidian at a museum i went to the other day. That stuff feels so neat! And the rare times I find a pebble remotely quartz looking, I think I've really found something. That's one of the reason's I like this forum, lots of different stuff to look at. Looks like you guys are having fun!
