Well I had 2 days off in a row. Did quartz one day and a flint the next. I only got 1 pic of the quartz cause allot dont like it. The center piece is a digging tool the rest are scrapers. 1.5 hour hunt for the quartz.
The flint I got today. There are some nice Gravers and scrapers this is from a spot Old Digger told me to hit. I fount the tip to my latest heart breaker I do believe and the last pics I found in the lower field by the creek. There is one tool that I found and am wondering if anyone else has found any like it. The last one is a old find, I found it in the same spot as the others last yr. It was a 3 hour hunt today. If anyone has some like these please post them. Thanks, rock
I cant believe they uploaded correctly.

I like the quartz...Great finds Rock, glad to see folks getting out.
Thanks for sharing, good work!!

Rock, I may be wrong in calling that base Hardaway or dalton. Like Twitch said "paleo"! Hardaway and Dalton are transitional or early archaic. I think you have a Clovis base. The "ears" are shorter than the Hardaway or Dalton's "ears". The point, I feel safe saying doesn't go with the base. The base shows an older flaking style. Same lithic, that's for sure. Nice looking lithic.

Your rite on the tip. Same color but different flaking. I didnt notice till I posted it. I did want to show some other Gravers I have found out there. I havent shown these cause some would say rocks but you can see they are Gravers. Now why do you think there is so many Gravers out there?

Rusty - It might be a transitional point, or it might be a true paleo. It's off of a hell of a nice point either way.

Looks like you did good! :icon_thumright:

100_2777.JPG What a heartbreaker! Now you need to find the center part.

100_2512.JPG Nice little scraper!

Yeah! No doubt there. I wish I could study it in hand. You know what I mean by transitional points have bases with long ears at the base, right? Often they will not be as uniformed as those on this piece either. One ear will be longer than the other on dalton or Hardaway pieces.

Digger, do you think the flaking on both point and base match? They look different to me. I'm blind in one eye and can't see out the other. So I'm told any way! Lol

From what I can tell, the material looks the same, but the base appears to be better worked. It is a possibility that if they were ''one piece'', the possibility is that the tip was damaged in use that caused the breakage into three or more pieces.
:icon_scratch: As for your eyes, maybe you are trying to look out of your bad eye and not with your good eye. :dontknow:

Here is a close up of the one I found today. I would like to know what period it came from if anyone knows.

There is no way of knowing.

Dang I was hoping somebody might know. Down by the creek there is a slight hill and on the top of the hill I have found some nice ones like this one and the tan one. The large square looking one has some side damage on it but I believe it is a scraper. Rite behind the hill is a swampy area that runs into the creek when there is water in it. If it dries out in the summer I will rake the leaves and see what is under them. Thank you

Here is a pic of the crystal knife made from quartz, its see through on the blade part.

Usually around here a swampy area suggest a spring in on the site, or was an old bend in the creek bed.

I am thinking an old spring. It starts rite behind the hill as a oval shape like a pond but smaller then has a stream that has created a small creek that then leads into the main creek which is a small river. It was dry when the trees were full of leaves I couldnt see it. Now with all the rain there is water in it. As soon as summer gets here that spot will be my main focus. I am sure you know why just as I do. The base was actually found on the main upper field. That field is the only place that I have found any points. I have found tips down in the area of the old spring. To me these look more like spear tips and not point tips just by the thickness of them. Maybe I will find a whole one.
