I found this on my farm the other day and while carfully cleaning it I noticed the crossed Key and Sword. I looked it up on the Internet and determined that it was the Insignia of the Quartermaster Corp. I am looking to see how old this is because it does not seem to match the items I have seen related to the Quartermaster Corp. The Key and Sword are reversed from the modern day version of the Quartermaster Insignia. The back is heavily encrusted and I did not want to damage the button by scrubbing it. I included a picture for scale of the button next to an Indian head penny.

Looks like a U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps enlisted man's collar disk, WWI-1920's.

Any reason the Key is on the Left and the Sword on the Right? All the QM Collar Disks or Buttons I have seen are on the opposite side.

If the button is stamped and you look at the "back" everything is reversed.
