Strangest find to date .I was searching a roll of dimes today and as I opened it and slid out the dimes something in the stack looked promiseing .It was bright silver color ,started smileing until I looked at the coin .Something Ive never seen or heard about .
A minnie bicentenial quarter its smaller than a dime by a bit .It says copy on the front below that there is an s .
No idea what it is or what it could be worth .probably nothing but cool find just the same .Went thru the rest of rolls and got skunked .no more dimes for me ill stick to halves

LOL was it metal? I found a plastic penny in one of my rolls. It looks like a real penny, BUT IT WAS PLASTIC.... LOL :tongue3:

I too also gave up on dimes, 6 boxes straight were skunks. I will try them again sometime later but not now, maybe in a few months.

Odds are if it says copy its worthless.

Coins do get occasionally stamped out on the wrong planchets, but you won't see copy on those. ;)

Would be nice to see a pic though...

Could be one of those "Replica" coins coming out of China. I see a lot of those of different coins on ebay. Some are the exact size as the real coin they are mimicking, some are larger and some are smaller. they are all stamped either "replica" or "copy". Worthless except to fill in empty slots in coin book collections until the real thing comes along.

I've found a couple of Buffalo nickels like that. Not sure who made them, but I believe they are just for show...no real value.
