Always see a few of these in this area. They're usually not very aggressive and fairly tolerant of human presence, but that tongue flicking by the big one facing the camera is his way of telling me you're close enough. About the worst thing they do is jump up on top of your vehicle in the parking lot. Sadly, last July 3rd someone shot, killed, and left laying two mountain goats on Quandary Peak. The case is being investigated, but still unsolved as far as I know. This part of the country was crawling with visitors at that time so hard to feature nobody saw or heard nothing. CPW has a reward of $15,000 for info leading to solving the case. (Thanks to everybody who donates to operation game thief)

Nice goats, beautiful country.:icon_thumright:

Thank you for sharing! :occasion14:

That's great. I've not gotten any pictures of mountain goat yet. Lucky you

Really nice photo's!

I helped the Montana Fish and Game catch a guy that was poaching elk, antelope and deer, but worst part was the land owner closed down his property to any hunting.

Good job, old digger. You know it's one thing to hunt something because you need to eat, I can understand that, but something else just to kill it and leave it lay. I am really proud of what was mostly us locals donating money to get that reward up to 15 grand.

What a pleasant surprise! Very cool photos of the mountain goats. I hope they catch the person. Thanks for the pics!

This was a pretty sad affair. There was this dope that worked with us back around the early 80s that shot a big horn sheep and got caught. His fine was $12K back then and they took his driver's license away also on top of never again having hunting privileges for life in the state of Colorado and who knows maybe the whole nation?
