Went to my favorite spot again today for some nature therapy. The universe delivered! My favorites are always the beautiful green rocks and every few feet today where the ice has melted away was a beautiful green rock. The most beautifully bright one stood out as the best green I've found in a long time. Then there was a crystal like stone with quartz and green crystals with what looks like pyrite or gold? Very pretty. Plus the Garnets! Oh and of course some fossils too! I could spend all day here, oh..wait, I did ❤️

Some more from the day. Would love to go with a geologist sometime or someone who knows their stuff and learn what they all are.

That bright green rock looks like epidote. Also that piece of quartz does look like it has some gold. I also hunt rocks in the glacial till. It’s amazing how many different kinds there are. If you want to learn to ID them, start by learning the three rock types, sedimentary, igneous or metamorphic. Once you can narrow it down to one of the three, it becomes easier to identify them. I’m no geologist but I’m trying to learn myself. It’s a very complicated subject for amateurs.

Awesome thank you ToddsPoint! I've been an avid collector since childhood of rocks & fossils but have yet to learn more than the basics. Appreciate your info!

To me, that first pic looks like the real deal, I would be surprised if it wasn't. May want to keep it low key local.
