I found this purple heart when I was 9 in Caney Arkansas when my auntie Cleo Whites' old barn burned. She told me what it was and what it meant and to keep it until I could find who it belonged to so I could return it. 37 years later,,, And I still wonder always...I have no idea how old or from what war. There is some type of writing on the back but it is hardly readable.. I can make out a "MIL" on the first word and "m' on the second word.. I am guessing military merit? Any Idea on finding the owner's family?

will sure try! This is my first time to post so I thinik I need practice ! :hello:

The back would have had "MILITARY MERIT" in raised letters, and under that the recipients name engraved. It looks pretty rough, and I'd say the odds are slim of finding an owner unless you can figure out the name on it.
